On March 21st, the college’s Party Committee Secretary He Meng, President Xu Jin, Executive Dean Li Haisheng, Vice Deans Sun Xiaorong, Zhao Zhiyao, and over 120 graduate students went to Huairou Science City in Beijing for a research and exchange visit.

The group successively visited the Beijing Yanqi Lake Institute of Applied Mathematics and the Huairou Campus of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. They learned about the overall construction and development of Huairou Science City, the scientific facilities in the starting area, the construction status of the Urban Living Room supporting projects, and the construction of the Huairou Comprehensive National Science Center. They also visited the operation of the extreme condition quantum state control system. During the visit, President Xu Jin had an in-depth exchange with the scientific researchers of the research units on topics such as the historical development of mathematics and quantum computing.

The district committee member, secretary of the organization department of Huairou District, Liu Minhua received the college’s faculty and students. He listened to the reports on the progress of the probe computer development and the recent development of the college. He also had an in-depth discussion with the college’s faculty and students on the development of young teachers, student training, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

Subsequently, President Xu Jin gave a special report on the “probe computer” at the Yanqi Lake Lecture Hall in Huairou Science City. The report was attended by members of the middle and young cadre class in Huairou District, representatives of scientific research institutes and technology-based enterprises in Huairou, officials from the district organization department, district science and technology commission, science city management committee, science city company, and relevant townships, as well as retired cadres and graduate students of the college. President Xu Jin showcased the background of the probe computer development, its computing principles, machine performance, and future applications. The academic atmosphere at the scene was very strong. After the report, many scientific researchers from scientific research institutes and technology-based enterprises in Huairou, as well as retired cadres, had an in-depth exchange with President Xu Jin.
