Established in 2003, this major is now a national first-class undergraduate program and a first-class undergraduate program in Beijing. It has cooperated with the University of Illinois, University of Technology Sydney and other internationally renowned schools in running schools. At the same time, it is jointly built with the financial engineering major of our school to cultivate excellent software talents in the financial field.

Based on the actual development of Beijing software industry, the reform and innovation of software engineering talent training mode of "field demand-oriented, practical engineering as the background, project-driven as the main line" is carried out, highlighting the cultivation of students 'software development ability and software engineering quality. Graduates can be engaged in the design, implementation, testing and management of software projects, as well as data analysis and processing in the fields of finance and big data.

There are 16 full-time teachers and 12 associate professors, all of whom have doctoral degrees. Among the teachers, some of them were selected into the "Young and Middle-aged Backbone Talents Plan of the Talent Strengthening and Deepening Project of Beijing's Colleges and Universities" and Beijing's famous Young Teaching teachers. In addition, senior engineers from well-known enterprises at home and abroad such as Tencent and Aerospace Science and Technology are employed as tutors outside the school.

In recent years, graduates have gone to Zhejiang University, Southeast University and other universities for further study, or worked in Beijing Municipal Finance Bureau, Bank of China, ByteDance and other units, and the employment rate has exceeded 95% for many years in a row.
