Major Introduction
The E-commerce major is a national first-class undergraduate major construction site. It is based on the needs of capital construction, serves the national development strategy, adapts to the development of the network economy era and emerging business models, and is a composite and applied major that integrates the professional knowledge of multiple disciplines such as information science, management, economics, and statistics. The major gives full play to the leading role of the new generation of digital technologies and promotes personalized talent cultivation mainly in three characteristic directions: "Digital Business Product Innovation Design", "Social Digital and Intelligent Media Marketing", and "Trusted E-commerce Technology and Platform Development".
Cultivation Objectives
To cultivate compound talents who meet the needs of the national strategy and social development, master the e-commerce laws in the digital economy era, pay attention to the all-round development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor education, possess solid management and business knowledge, systematically master the professional methods of information science, computer science, and data science, can comprehensively use business thinking, information technology, and data analysis capabilities to solve practical problems in the fields related to e-commerce, have strong innovation spirit, practical ability, entrepreneurial ability, and scientific research ability, and have a certain international vision and international communication ability.
Characteristics and Advantages
The major has been selected into the Beijing High-level Talent Cross-training Program and the Beijing High-end Technical and Skilled Talent Through-training Program. It has established a "Virtual Teaching and Research Section" in cooperation with many well-known universities in China to cultivate multi-level innovative and applied e-commerce talents. As a member of the National E-commerce Industry-Education Integration and Innovation Alliance and a member of the National E-commerce and E-government Joint Laboratory, the major has established a professional talent cultivation plan that meets the personalized growth needs of students. The major combines the advantages of the school's light industry and business disciplines, closely integrates with the characteristics of the "Internet +" era, and cultivates students' ability to proficiently apply the theories and methods of information science and business management and master solid Internet business knowledge and skills.
Teaching Staff
The major has 24 full-time teachers, including 9 professors and 11 associate professors. All the teachers have experience of studying, training, or international cooperation abroad. Among the teaching team, there is 1 member of the Professional Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, 1 Beijing Higher Education Creation Plan Teaching Famous Teacher, 1 Beijing Teaching Famous Teacher, 2 Beijing Middle-aged and Young Backbone Teachers, 3 selected for the Beijing Young Top-notch Talent Training Program, 1 person in charge of Beijing High-quality Courses, 1 enterprise innovation and entrepreneurship mentor, and 2 national vocational skills training experts. They have published nearly 30 national planning textbooks, high-quality textbooks for higher education in Beijing, and professional works. In the past three years, the professional teaching team has presided over more than 20 horizontal and vertical research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation projects and national key research and development projects, and published more than 20 high-level papers in well-known international journals.

Practical Teaching
The major promotes the integration of "learning and research" relying on the National Engineering Research Center for Traceability Technology and Application of Agricultural Product Quality and Safety, and promotes the integration of "industry and learning" relying on practical teaching platforms such as the "Yonyou Newroad" Beijing Off-campus Talent Training Base. With the purpose of "industry-based education", the major has jointly established off-campus internship bases with well-known enterprises such as Alibaba and JD.com, and built an innovative and comprehensive practical teaching system of "government-application-industry-university-research" in which entrepreneurs enter the classroom, the dual-tutor system of enterprises and universities, and business incubation are carried out simultaneously. Relying on the talent cultivation mode of "tutorial system + project system + whole process", the major organizes students to participate in discipline practice competitions such as the China College Students' "Internet +" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the National College Students' E-commerce "Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship" Challenge. Students are encouraged to participate in teachers' scientific research projects and transform scientific research findings into invention patents, software copyrights, and high-level academic papers. Thus, a positive feedback talent cultivation closed loop is formed.
Employment and Further Studies
According to the employment data statistics in the past three years, the major has maintained a high employment rate. The average annual salary of graduates is 130,000 yuan, with the highest reaching 210,000 yuan. On average, about 35% of the students are successfully admitted to postgraduate programs in well-known domestic and foreign universities each year, such as Beijing Normal University, the University of Manchester, Carnegie Mellon University, etc. Most students are employed in well-known e-commerce enterprises (such as Alibaba Group, JD Group, ByteDance, etc.) and well-known Internet software enterprises (such as Yonyou Group). At the same time, a small number of students are engaged in Internet entrepreneurship.
